Dorothy L. “Dot” Guazzo and her family relocated to Maui in 2005 from Stockton, California. Starting at the law firm of Ivey Fosbinder Fosbinder LLLC as a documents paralegal, she has expanded her expertise into all areas of estate planning, estate administration, probate, guardianships, conservatorships, conveyances, Land Court matters, and more. When clients need procedural and technical assistance, or even just a friendly hand to hold, Dot is readily available to provide information and support. Mentored by the late Elizabeth A. Ivey and Rhonda M. Fosbinder, attorneys, Dot has continued to work for Attorney Fosbinder for over 13 years, currently as the Senior Paralegal with Island Legal Group LLLC. The long term relationship has allowed the development of a great professional and satisfying work relationship, as well as integral knowledge of individual client needs.

Previously, Dot worked for several law firms in Anchorage, Alaska, and Lodi and Stockton, California. Immediately prior to moving to Maui, Dot was employed for 12 years with the San Joaquin County Office of Substance Abuse and San Joaquin County Mental Health Services, as a Substance Abuse Counselor and Assistant Director/Program Chief. She participated in a 5-year research project funded by the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration in a clinical and administrative capacity; the Allies program served women with co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders, and Dot was co-author of a published paper concerning those issues.

Dot’s personal interests include spending time with family, cooking great food, riding her motorcycle, jewelry making, getting beach time, and enjoying the beauty of Maui.

Dot completed two Legal Secretarial certificate programs at Alaska Business College in Anchorage, Alaska, and later at MTI Business College in Stockton, California. She attended Humphries College in Stockton, California, taking various paralegal courses.
